On the back of our property sits two clay animals – a squirrel & turtle – on boulders between the barn and workshop. After the 2005 Witch Creek Fire paid a visit to our neighborhood; the barn, workshop and everything in between was eaten by its ferocious appetite.   When the smoke cleared and the county said it was safe to return, amidst the rubble and soot sat those two animals.  While looking into the eyes of these man made animals, God spoke truth to me.

To create those animals, the creator had to make and mold them through fire.  It was hot and uncomfortable to be created in this fashion. If those animals could speak I’m sure they would have cried out in frustration & pain every time the creator placed them back in the fire. Yet he needed to do so in order to fashion them into the reality that had earlier formed in the creators mind.  Time and time again they faced firey trials – that, which was not necessary, was chipped away.  Finally the creator saw them as he had envisioned them all along and he shared it with mankind.

Now, years later, those animals are faced with another fire.  Everything around them was destroyed.  Yet them remained EXACTLY as the creator made them.  Yes, it was unacomfortable.  Yes, they got dirty and yes, it was painful BUT they WERE NOT DESTROYED!! You see, they had to go through the initial fires in order to NOT be destroyed in the ultimate fire.  Those animals tell you a lot about me – Teri Meeks.

I have been through the fire.  My family has been through the fire.  Yet I am here to tell you I have not been destroyed.  My family has not been destroyed.  And I am still striving to be what My Creator envisioned me to be.

I am:

A Child of God                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Married to the love of my life                                                                                                                                                                                                                  A Mother to 5

I desire to be:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   A companion, cheerleader, confidant                                                                                                                                                                                     harmonious, a healer and helpmate                                                                                                                                                                                                   to all those entrusted in my path
